The BlackSmiths Arms

The Blacksmiths Arms is a friendly family pub in the lovely village of Naburn, Near York. Serving delicious homemade food and excellent cask

The pub owners had tried several times to make their own websites using builders like Wix, but they never got the results they needed. Their last site, made in 2023, was hacked and the domain was taken over, now showing gambling links. They asked me to create a new website that matched the style of a traditional pub like the Blacksmith Arms.

The site is fully editable, so the staff can update reviews, menus, and prices whenever they need to. It also works smoothly on phones, as most customers look up pubs on mobile.

The pub has a small rental cottage, so the site includes details about the cottage and an integrated booking system. The staff can update this content too.

As a small village pub, their budget was limited so I created a simpler 2 page site (one page for the pub, the second for the cottage).

I also helped them buy a new domain safely and I managed the hosting on UK servers.

Since then, the pub has been taken over by the brewery and the landlords have left, the site no longer exists online as it is now promoted on the brewery site. Locals have since complained about the change and say that it was easier to find opening times and menu information on the site that I created.
