Payzu

After more than 15 years of experience in designing, building and maintaining bill payment apps for Santander, we decided to create a product of our own. 

This product was a bill presentment and payment app that we could sell as a white label system to utility and service providers.

Payzu was a suite of payment solutions that simply enabled companies to take online payments for a product or service.

In addition, Payzu Plus offered a full function App that actually delivers the bills, and allows customers to view the bill on their mobile device and make a payment in three clicks.

The Payzu system offered companies the following benefits:

• Designed from the ground up to work with any desktop, mobile or tablet browser responsively

My role was to lead the technical aspect of the project, from flow design, online and backend security to web and mobile application design and build. The prototype was written in C# using Microsoft Xamarin and was used as a tool to present to potential clients. With the full backing of Santander, we had a ready-made secure payment platform

As the technical lead, I led the team in the technical design of the system, including the creation of network diagrams and process flows, working with the third-party payment processors, defining bill integration APIs and heading the mobile development team.

I was also involved in the promotion, sales meetings and corporate shows as the technical lead to answer questions that the marketing team couldn’t answer.
