Available car

Available Car is one of the leading car supermarkets in the UK. 

The business, first established in the Midlands in 2002. Over the last 18 years, Available Car has expanded to become one of the UK’s largest and most successful used car supermarkets, with stores in Castle Donington, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Cannock and Leeds.

Working directly with Available Car’s marketing agency which led on the creative and brand strategy, my role was to digital project manage and lead the development team with the technical design, the Umbraco CMS build, data integration, security, hosting platform and ongoing technical support.

The data driving the Available Car website represented a significant integration project. The site data for each car comes from 3 different sources; CAP-HPI (third-party data owner), CDK Drive (the Available Car back-office system and the buyers guide tool.

Finance options are presented using the integrated Santander calculator.

Finally, The buyers guide was an application built by my team which pulled together all the available data to create a stunning site with the car information needed for the customer to make their decision. 

In addition, I was also responsible for the technical SEO which was focussed on local search queries. Seo became a major financial benefit to the company and eventually provided more than 60% of the traffic to the site, reducing the need for expensive PPC.
