You think Halloween is scary?!?

The YorkshireTechy Blog

It’s Halloween tomorrow. 🎃 So I thought I’d share some of the genuinely scary things I’ve found lurking on websites over the years…

⚪️ An admin password of “admin” on a live business website.

⚪️ Taking over a “broken” website and finding WordPress plugins that hadn’t been updated in four years.

⚪️ A website audit that revealed there were no backups at all. “I thought the hosting company did that…”

⚪️ A website built years ago by a nephew who has since moved abroad… along with the only login details.

⚪️ Contact information for a business that moved premises two years ago.

The scary part?

None of these are unusual, and can be fixed before they become expensive problems.

If you’ve got a feeling there might be a skeleton or two hiding in your website’s cupboard, I’m happy to take a quick look.

I’ve got some availability in the run-up to Christmas.

Happy Halloween from Pocklington! 🎃👻
